Bio

My work is done traditionally in watercolor in a soft color palette. Clients appreciate my ability to render figures realistically with a wide range of emotional expression. I’ve specialized in artwork for children’s publishing in trade, periodical and educational materials for over 20 years.

My academic training while earning a BFA at Carnegie Mellon University taught me a painter’s aesthetic. Hours of life drawing led to an adeptness at portraying people naturally. I learned the technical part working in the field while applying my painter’s eye to assignments.

My home/studio is in central Pennsylvania where I live with my husband, Lou. Our son, Amos, is now grown but appears in a lot of my early work. Now, I rely on children in my neighborhood for inspiration.
